Background
On Mar. 4, 2024, B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and the BC Centre for Disease Control issued a reminder to the public for people to check their vaccine records before travelling. Currently in B.C., there has been a single case of measles confirmed -- the first case in the province since 2019.
Babies as young as six months should get vaccinated against measles before travelling to countries where measles is spreading. Children between one and four years can also get their second dose before travelling internationally.
